Double victory in Haiming | Podium in Nové Město and a rollercoaster of emotions

An intense week of racing with lots of emotions lies behind our young team. The start of the race in Haiming was fantastic and ended with a double victory for Björn (U23 men) and Giuliana (U23 women). It was the first race win in Europe for both.
Emilly started in the elite class to gain experience for the possible Olympic qualification and crossed the finish line in 7th place in the highly competitive race. Ethan finished 3rd in the U23 field and secured the first double podium for our team.

However, we were not only able to impress at the race, but also again with our support for young athletes from the ever-growing talent community. "It's great to see that more and more young athletes and their parents are coming to us and are very grateful when we can help with flat tires, a broken chain or simply adjusting the gears," report Kobi and Patrick, who are on hand to help.
However, our team not only provided support, but also non-cash prizes for the top 10 in the youth and junior classes. "That makes the kids happy and is easy on the parents' wallets," says Bernd Reutemann, our busy team manager.

Directly from Haiming, they went on to the World Cup in Nové Město, where the last points for the Olympic Games were collected. The tension was correspondingly high. In the opening race, the short track, Emilly confirmed her consistent performance and finished in 4th place, narrowly missing out on the 4th podium in her 6th World Cup race. Björn also impressed once again, crossing the finish line in 6th place. Our two Rider were therefore in the front row.
After a break, Tobias returned to the top of the world rankings in 16th place. In pouring rain and challenging conditions, this race demanded everything from our athletes, both physically and mentally.
The women's race was won by Isabella Holmgren, who is a guest rider from Lidl-Trek and is part of our team.

The XCO race was already on the agenda for the boys the next day and this time it was top conditions at the start. After a fast race on the technically most difficult World Cup course, Björn was able to climb his 3rd World Cup podium and defend his 2nd place in the overall standings. Ethan finished in the top 20 despite a technical defect that he suffered in the Rockgarden.
In the final U23 women's race, Emilly fought her way to 4th place, missing the podium by a hair's breadth due to a crash, and is also in 2nd place in the overall World Cup rankings. Our Brazilian champion Giuliana secured 19th place on a tough day.
"For me, the weekend was like a rollercoaster - I'm proud of the squad and we've managed to always be in the top 5 in the last 6 World Cup races in both U23 categories. This shows the consistency of our Rider. It was great to see how the whole team works for each other and how everyone gives their best and has a common goal - sustainable development and also understanding when the body can't perform at its best on the day. We had seen great success from our guest rider, but on the other hand we had also lost the Olympic spot for Emilly - that's racing. The biggest personal development and strength for me that day was shown by Emilly, who looked ahead again the day after the race - and is now concentrating on the World Championships in Andorra in August," said our team boss Bernd Reutemann.
