Spectacular end to the season for Trek Future Racing in America
2nd place overall 2nd place in the overall World Cup and further podium finishes
Lea Huber celebrates her premiere on the World Cup podium,
Bjorn Riley and Emilly Johnston secure second place in the overall World Cup
The season was long and hard - you could clearly feel that at the last World Cup races in America. Surprises were the order of the day, as it wasn't always the top favorites who made it onto the podium. There was an emotional highlight for Trek Future Racing in particular: Lea Huber stood on the podium for the first time at the World Cup in Lake Placid and achieved her greatest success with a sensational 3rd place.
Bjorn Riley, the American star of the team, was unfortunately unable to compete in his home race in the USA.
But his team-mate, the young Ian Ackert, caused quite a stir: With start number 59, he raced to a sensational 22nd place and once again proved his huge potential. He also delivered a strong race in the second race in Canada, but had to pay tribute to his ambitious start and ultimately finished in 20th place.
"I was completely surprised when I was in the top 10 after the first lap. I just thought: 'What are you doing here?" said Ackert, the Canadian young star, who will also be taking off in cyclocross this winter.

Emilly Johnston was also a little under the weather, but was able to secure the runner-up title in the overall World Cup with a hard-fought 6th place. Particularly noteworthy: In 22 races, she was always in the top 10 and finished on the podium 8 times.

Tobias Lillelund, who traveled to the USA with two World Championship medals in his luggage, had to battle through a wrist injury. But the Dane showed true fighting qualities and secured 8th place in the World Cup twice despite his limitations - proof that nothing can stop him so quickly.

However, the biggest surprise and the most emotional moment for the team was Lea Huber, who was over the moon on the podium in Canada. After her strong performance in the USA, she was a force to be reckoned with and her 3rd place crowned the season. Bjorn Riley also shone, rewarding himself with a silver medal in both the individual race and the overall World Cup.
The races were thrilling and many riders used the last chance of the season to prove themselves and possibly lay the foundations for a move to a new team. Changes are also imminent at Trek Future Racing: Emilly Johnston, Bjorn Riley and Tobias Lillelund will move up to the elite class next year and thus say goodbye to the development team from Friedrichshafen.
"It was my last race for Trek Future Racing and I am incredibly grateful for the support, without which I would not be standing here today," said Bjorn Riley full of emotion.
Bernd Reutemann, Team Manager of Trek Future Racing, was proud to sum up: "The season demanded a lot from all of us - athletes and crew alike. Nevertheless, we wanted to give it our all once again at the end. Unfortunately, some of the riders caught colds after the flights, and you don't race World Cups when you're ill. But even before the trip it was clear: it was an incredible season for us! With 4 medals at the World Championships, 48 podium places and 5 national champions, it was the most successful season in the team's history. most successful season in the team's history."
The riders will now enjoy a well-deserved off-season before the team returns to the first training camp for the coming season on November 21.
